Irrigation
Whether you need routine maintenance or a full installation, AGW can help you get your irrigation system up and running!
When discussing budgets with our customers, we always recommend an allowance for underground irrigation. As a homeowner, it is important to focus on the installation of components that will ensure the overall value of your home increases (so you protect your investment at all times). Irrigation is one of those elements that is always marketable to a potential buyer and might be the extra edge needed to help your property stand out against the neighbors.
Consistent watering is another key factor in the overall health and wellness of a lawn. Maintaining grass is tremendously taxing and requires dedication to continue upkeep properly. Try a simple upgrade of a rain sensor to allow your system to modify its own behavior based on the amount of natural moisture that falls from the sky. This can directly impact your wallet if you are currently watering even when it rains because you forget to wake up to shut the system off overnight before a storm.
Watering times are recommended for the early morning (generally starting around 4 or 5 am and continuing until 8 or 9 am as necessary). If you let your zones run early in the day, it has multiple benefits for your lawn quality: (1) less water is required because less evaporation occurs in the cool morning hours, (2) more water is able to penetrate the subsoil structure and causes the roots to anchor deeper in the soil, (3) watering overnight can cause water to sit too long and promotes the growth of mold or other mildew (4) automatic scheduled watering times greatly increases the success of new lawn establishment (5) new technology can help us maintain efficient water quantities while still keeping your utilities down and (6) there is less risk of the early watering schedule interrupting your midday or afternoon activities.
No matter which way you look at it, irrigation systems are a positive investment for you to consider. That “greener grass” CAN be on your own side of the fence!
