Final Grading
Final grading is the first step in establishing a beautiful and long-lasting lawn. At AGW, we use top-of-the-line equipment to ensure that your yard will be smooth and usable when the hydro-mulch or sod is applied.
Traditionally, homebuilders will complete what is called a “rough grade” by industry standards. They will be in charge of bringing the general lawn grades up (or down) using soil that was previously removed during excavation. Our job is to come in and smooth the lumps and bumps out of that compromised fill dirt (also removing rocks or other unsuitable pieces that will make it hard for seed or sod to root down). It is often recommended to haul in an additional amount of finely screened black dirt (tonnage varies by property size and location) to achieve the best quality final grade.
